Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center

The Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center focuses on health disparities in minority populations. Topics of focus include substance abuse prevention programs, care of Latina mothers, analysis of outcome differences and the promotion of endocrine health in underserved populations. The center is one of 12 specialized research centers, Centers of Excellence, focused on improving minority health and health disparities funded from the National Institutes of Health.
