The Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center focuses on health disparities in minority populations. Topics of focus include substance abuse prevention programs, care of Latina mothers, analysis of outcome differences and the promotion of endocrine health in underserved populations. The center is one of 12 specialized research centers, Centers of Excellence, focused on improving minority health and health disparities funded from the National Institutes of Health.

The Urban Climate Research Center (UCRC) seeks to advance fundamental knowledge of processes in the urban atmosphere, and related interactions among urban systems. The center integrates social and physical science in this domain to develop and test urban design and management policies and strategies that enhance the productivity, health, and sustainability of urban populations.
Funded by the National Science Foundation and housed in the Julie Anne Wrigley Global Institute for Sustainability, the UREx Sutainability Research Network aims to build connections between scholars and city and community practitioners to produce resilient infrastructure data, models, images, maps, stories and on-the-ground projects.

The American Indian Policy Institute (AIPI) is an Indigenous-led and staffed think-tank with a primary focus is public policy analysis and research. We have expertise in telecommunications, communications, broadband, digital inclusion, technology for language retention, and technology as the backbone for community and economic development, and communication ethics. The institute is part of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law.
