Founded in 2016, the Urban Research Climate Center integrates social and physical sciences to develop and test urban design and management policies to enhance the productivity, health and sustainability of urban populations. Topical areas include extreme heat, air quality, flooding and drought, urban ecology and infrastructure services for energy, water and transportation.
The center is a partnership between the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning, and the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability.
